Chief Financial Officer - Greensboro Grasshoppers (Greensboro, NC)

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are the Class ‘A’ affiliate for the Miami Marlins. At the Grasshoppers, we pride ourselves on being a first class organization. We are searching for a Chief Financial Officer. This position will oversee all aspects of the team’s accounting and financial systems. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the areas of Human Resources, Ticketing financials, Sales/Sponsorship support, Computer/IT issues and any other general front office duties. Position reports to President/General Manager.


Required Qualifications:
• Four year degree with focus in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or Sports Management
• At least two years Baseball and/or Sports Industry experience
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting System preferable
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Strong personnel management, communication, time management and organizational skills
• Professional image and demeanor
• Consistent, punctual and regular attendance
• Complete ability to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Required to work all baseball games and special events.


Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overall finance and accounting functions for the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Greensboro Baseball, LLC Charities
• Manage and oversee A/R, A/P, Payroll, HR, Treasury, Ticket Financials, Budgeting, daily cash management, etc
• Responsible for oversight of internal controls systems by department
• Responsible for all aspects of cash collection and deposit on Game Nights
• Responsible for working with outside accounting firm as needed for preparation of monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports as well as ownership tax returns
• Assist Pres./General Manager with budget preparation, financial reporting and departmental budgeting
• Report updates to Pres./General Manager and ownership on actual vs. budget
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in all departments
• Effectively communicate with all levels of internal staff, vendors and other outside agencies
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned
